Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual closing responsibilities for multiple divisions
- Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP
- Provide financial statement analysis
- Design and implement process improvements and best practices
- Review of account reconciliations and journal entries
- Responsible for ASC360 impairment analysis
- Responsible for the appropriateness and accuracy of lease accounting as well as fixed asset accounting
- Provide accounting support in the budgeting and forecasting process
- Responsible for the completion and presentation of quarterly reporting packages to senior management
- Support quarterly and year-end external audits
- Verify performance of internal control processes to ensure compliance with SOX requirements
- Provide technical accounting support by completing related results as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Familiarity with GAAP principles
- Accounting, SFAS Rules, Reporting Skills, Deadline-Oriented, Time Management, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, PC Proficiency, Productivity, Verbal Communication, General Math Skills
- A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting;
- Minimum 7 years accounting experience within the financial services industry, preferably in the investment management industry; fund of funds experience is a plus;
- Excellent understanding of accounting and the ability to apply relevant investment company accounting and reporting guidance;
- Strong knowledge of reconciliation and account analysis;
- Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems; and
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
