GIPS Performance Analyst

Job Description:
  • Serve as the lead to Company’s GIPS working group, which includes monitoring and disseminating new GIPS reporting requirements to members and stakeholders

  • Staying informed of all regulatory requirements governing performance reporting

  • Maintain and update firm-wide GIPS policies and procedures

  • Support all firm-wide aspects of composite construction, performance calculations, and creation/maintenance of compliant presentations

  • Lead Company’s annual GIPS verification efforts, including the coordination and gathering of supporting data requested by Company’s independent verifier

  • Review marketing materials where Company’s claim of compliance is utilized to ensure compliance with the GIPS presentation and disclosure requirements and consistency of disclosures throughout materials

  • Assist in compiling and maintaining performance records for composites, including maintaining documentation to support account inclusion/exclusion decisions

  • Assist in defining appropriate benchmarks for composites and accounts, including any required research and/or creation of customized benchmarks as appropriate for the investment guidelines

  • Interface with other departments including Portfolio Management, Client Services, Marketing and Compliance to complete ad hoc requests and to exchange information

  • Collaborate with Portfolio Management teams on analysis and approval of account and composite performance.

Job Requirements:

  • The individual must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • He/She must be able to succeed in a fast-paced, high pressure team environment with tight deadlines

  • The successful candidate will have strong integrity and professionalism.

  • B.A./B.S. degree required

  • Considerable understanding of GIPS standards; CIPM certificate holder preferred

  • 4-8 years of investment performance-related experience including a detailed understanding of composite construction, performance calculation methodologies, and performance attribution

  • Fundamental knowledge of investment accounting; experience working with alternative asset classes, long/short strategies, leverage and complex derivatives a plus

  • Proven ability to execute quickly and meet stated deadlines

  • Strong technical acumen including advanced Excel, Access queries, and working knowledge of Bloomberg and other related financial resources.
