Job Description:
The Senior Entity Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the books and records for various legal entities which are placed between the private partnership portfolios and their ultimate investments.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparing and maintaining the books and records, for U.S. reporting purposes, of various types of legal entities organized under various jurisdictions;
- Accounting for inter-entity transactions;
- Monitoring the movements of cash within the deal and fund structures;
- Reviewing the output of possible third party bookkeepers and /or entity accountant;
- Working with internal tax and legal departments to ensure the completeness of the population of entities and documentation and accurate structure charts;
- Calculating allocations of income and expenses up to the different classes of limited partners of the private partnership investing funds;
- Working with Fund Accountants to reconcile differences between private partnership investing funds and their legal entities;
- Constructing transaction analysis upon deal closing to ensure completeness and full communication between portfolio, tax, legal and accounting teams;
- Preparing of monthly, quarterly, and annual (or as needed) reports for tax department; and
- Performing other tasks as required.
Job Requirement:
- A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting;
- Mnimum 5 years accounting experience within the financial services industry, preferably in the investment management industry;
- Strong appreciation for the importance of investment structures and the maintenance of their books and records;
- Strong knowledge of reconciliation and account analysis;
- Excellent understanding of accounting and the ability to apply relevant company accounting rules;
- Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems; and
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
