Senior Fund Accountant

Job Description:
  • Preparation and maintenance of the books and records of funds of funds, which are organized as limited partnerships;

  • Accounting for and reconciliation of cash and investments;

  • Recording and reconciling capital transactions (contributions/distributions, subscriptions/redemptions);

  • Calculation of income and expense allocations to each partner;

  • Determining and preparing distributions and draw-downs, as well as managing cash flows by and between the company’s funds and the funds of funds;

  • Preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports to investors; 

  • Preparation of annual audited financial statements;

  • Calculating and analyzing performance metrics for each series of capital;

  • Coordinating with the funds’ independent auditors; and

  • Performing other tasks as required.

Job Requirements:
  • The successful candidate must have great organizational skills and be able to handle complicated work efficiently and effectively;

  • The candidate must take the initiative to ask questions and detect and resolve problems;

  • He/ she must be a team player and demonstrate a strong work ethic; and

  • The successful candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable working and interacting with investors, while being mindful of the confidential nature of both fund and investor transactions

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting;

  • Minimum 4 years accounting experience within the financial services industry, preferably in the investment management industry; fund of funds experience is a plus;

  • Excellent understanding of accounting and the ability to apply relevant investment company accounting and reporting guidance;

  • Strong knowledge of reconciliation and account analysis;

  • Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems; and

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
