Job Interview

Answer to: Give me an example of where your weakness affected you in your current or past roles, and how you resolved this.

The key to answering this question is to make sure your weakness is really a strength and how you parlayed that into a successful situation at work.

Example: I ask a lot of questions, and sometimes this can annoy the manager that assigns a project to me. So, I preface my line of questioning by explaining to the manager that I will ask many questions about the project, but the reason I am doing this is to make sure that I have all the information necessary to complete the project efficiently and quickly, and thus avoid any future interruptions down the pipeline.

Example: I don’t know how to say no to others. The other day my colleague asked me to help him meet a deadline. He had a whole week to prepare but I could see that he was struggling. Even though it was end of day I had no problem saying yes, and we both stayed in the office until well past midnight to get the job done.

Example: I have very high expectations of myself as well as of others. This can come across as somewhat arrogant yet at the end of the day, my only purpose is to make sure the work is delivered and executed correctly, the first and only time.
