Job Interview

Answer to: What are your interests / hobbies outside of work?

This is not the time to talk about how you love to party, and that you like to stay up late at night to download music into your I-Pod. Chess, Sports, and most importantly, charitable and community involvements are highly respected by employers, so get involved and then make sure to discuss this in detail during the interview. The employer is looking for personal traits about you. Your answer should still focus around the job description, yet, if you want, you can add additional insight into your personal life. Are you recently married, do you have small children, did you just move to the city, etc. Use caution and think carefully if sharing this personal information will help you get the job (if you are single without kids, a job with heavy travelling would work well for you, yet if you have 4 children, perhaps the employer would be concerned with heavy travel for someone like you).
