Don’t just answer blindly and say, “Gosh, I’m not sure; I have been sending my resume to tons of jobs online so it was probably that…” That will be a careless answer and will not impress the employer. Make sure you remember how you found out about each of your positions. Employers like to know how their roles are “hitting the street” so be sure you recall as specifically as possible and let them know. It shows that you are also organized.

If you state that you have no idea, as you have been applying to so many jobs and it’s hard to keep track, this will make you look disinterested and not loyal to their role. Even if this is the truth, don’t say it this way.
